Tsinghua Tongfang layout LED industry chain

Recently, Tongfang Co., Ltd. announced the new "10+2" structure, from the original horizontal "management headquarters" to the vertical "industrial headquarters", laying out the digital TV industry chain and the LED industry chain.

"In the digital TV industry chain and the LED industry chain, Tsinghua Tongfang has been deeply cultivating for many years." Lu Zhicheng, president of Tongfang Co., Ltd. said. The reporter learned that since 2004, Tsinghua Tongfang has started the strategic layout of the industrial chain. After continuously improving the downstream production and sales layout, it is committed to controlling the upstream industrial chain, building two LED industry bases in Beijing and Shenyang, and then building the Nantong LED base.

According to reports, Tsinghua Tongfang Beijing LED chip base has a monthly production capacity of about 1 billion. Nantong Base will have an annual production capacity of 1.706 billion exported high-brightness LED chips. “Tongfang has completed the industrial chain layout of LED chip production and application and has a complete digital TV industry chain group,” Lu Zhicheng said.

Earlier, some analysts pointed out that LED core technology will be the biggest opportunity for the development of China's TV industry. Wang Lianghai, vice president of Tongfang Co., Ltd. said, "In the LED chip that can be used for LCD TV backlighting, Tongfang can use about one-third of it, and the other two-thirds will be sold to other LED backlight module manufacturers and domestic. Outside TV manufacturers, Tongfang will also stop purchasing LED chips produced in Taiwan."

Wang Lianghai introduced that at present, Tsinghua Tongfang has mastered the LED core technology of high-brightness blue-green LED epitaxial wafer growth, high-brightness blue-green LED chip fabrication engineering high-power chip, and epitaxial wafer industrial production.

In addition, Wang Lianghai pointed out that the new “10+2” architecture has enabled Tongfang's diversified business community to present more than a dozen mature industrial chains supported by core technologies in the information and energy environment. The multiple companies in the chain are vertically upstream and downstream, and the chains echo each other.

It is reported that the LED industry is the largest investment in Tongfang's shares for more than a decade. At present, six devices at the Miyun base have started to operate. The first phase of the construction of Tongfang’s Nantong LED Semiconductor Industrial Base has also been fully rolled out.

What is a PCB Connector?
Printed Circuit Board connectors are connection systems mounted on PCBs. Typically PCB Connectors are used to transfer signals or power from one PCB to another, or to or from the PCB from another source in the equipment build. They provide an easy method of Design for Manufacture, as the PCBs are not hard-wired to each other and can be assembled later in a production process.

PCB Connector orientations
The term PCB Connector refers to a basic multipin connection system, typically in a rectangular layout. A mating pair of PCB Connectors will either be for board-to-board or cable-to-board (wire-to-board). The board-to-board layouts can give a range of PCB connection orientations, all based on 90 degree increments:

Parallel or mezzanine – both connectors are vertical orientation;
90 Degree, Right Angle, Motherboard to Daughterboard – one connector is vertical, one horizontal;
180 Degree, Coplanar, Edge-to-Edge – both connectors are horizontal orientation.

Other names for PCB Connectors

PCB Connectors can be known as PCB Interconnect product. Specific terms are also used for the two sides of the connection.
