Over the last couple of years, however, Loulan has undergone multiple price slashes, dropping its price to just $230,000—a figure even lower than that of the Highlander. Despite this drastic reduction, sales remain lackluster. How did a model once selling over half a million units become so unpopular today? Not long ago, it was more popular than the Prado, but now, it's suddenly losing value faster than the Highlander! The exterior design of the Loulan remains commanding, reflecting the brand’s modern styling cues. Its body features bold V-line designs, including an exaggerated grille, boomerang-shaped headlights, and a three-dimensional side profile. The new model also incorporates a hidden D-pillar, giving it a floating roof effect that makes it look youthful and dynamic. From the side view, the sleek waistline adds a sporty touch, enhancing the car’s agile aesthetic. The rear styling further accentuates the floating roof impression. In terms of dimensions, the new Loulan measures 4,897 mm in length, 1,908 mm in width, and 1,691 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,830 mm. While the length, width, and wheelbase haven’t seen improvements compared to the previous generation, the overall proportions still convey strength and stability. Inside, the cabin exudes elegance and sophistication. The new four-spoke multifunction steering wheel complements an integrated LCD screen on the dashboard. The central console houses a larger touchscreen display, and the button layout feels intuitive and organized. Standard features include daytime running lights, LED taillights, rear window defrosting, electrically adjustable mirrors, speed-sensitive windshield wipers, and dual chrome-tipped exhausts. Under the hood, the new domestic Loulan offers two engine options. First, there’s a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 186 horsepower. Second, there’s a hybrid system combining a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine for a combined output of 245 horsepower. Both are paired with an Xtronic CVT transmission, ensuring smooth and responsive performance. Despite these impressive specs and price reductions, the Loulan struggles to regain its former popularity. It seems that even a competitive price point can't always save a vehicle that once commanded respect on the road.
