Zumtobel and Fraunhofer form a joint venture to develop OLED lighting products

On October 11, 2009, the Zumbotel Group from Austria and the Fraunhofer IPMS Institute (Fraunhofer Institute for Photonics Microsystems) today announced the formation of a new joint venture to develop OLED lighting modules. The new company is named "Led onOLED Lighting" and is headquartered in Dresden with 10-15 employees.

Ledon will not only produce OLED panels, but will also develop and manufacture complete OLED lighting solutions, as well as conceptual products for large-area OLED systems. Ledon will use the Fraunhofer test line to produce 370x470mm2 OLED panels, which are said to take only 3 minutes to produce.
