China, Japan and South Korea showdown! 2017's 65-inch flagship TV rating

In the age of information technology, people are increasingly surrounded by a world of screens. From large televisions to small mobile devices, all information and knowledge flow through these digital windows. In this era of "visual entertainment," display technology has evolved rapidly, becoming one of the most crucial directions in technological advancement. The development of display technology has never ceased. From the early CRT TVs to today's dominant liquid crystal displays, each innovation starts with corporate R&D and eventually reaches the market, shaping industry standards. Today, numerous companies compete fiercely, among them are the "innovators" who lead trends with high-end technologies. Their annual products often become benchmarks in the industry. We are now launching a "vision battle" to compare the most representative models from China, Japan, and South Korea. Specifically, we're evaluating the 65-inch flagship TVs from Hisense (China), Sony (Japan), and Samsung (South Korea) for their performance in 2017. Why these three brands? Sony represents Japan, Samsung represents South Korea, and Hisense is chosen as the Chinese representative due to its strong technical foundation. As a leader in ULED technology and independent chip development, Hisense has proven itself in product tests. Its laser TV also showcases advanced capabilities, making it a strong contender. Why these specific models? Sony’s X9300E, known as the "small Z9D," offers an elegant design and powerful image processing. Samsung’s Q8C is a global QLED pioneer, while Hisense’s MU9600 features quantum dot technology and received high ratings during testing. The question remains: can Hisense stand up against its Japanese and Korean counterparts? Why evaluate these top 65-inch TVs at year-end? While new models will debut in early 2018, the 2017 flagships are still highly competitive and offer excellent value. These models will be the most cost-effective option until April 2018, providing the best performance for your money. For our testing, we used a Canon 6D full-frame SLR camera with a 24-105mm lens. We evaluated appearance, screen capture, and objective data using a Topcon BM-7A luminance colorimeter. All tests were conducted in a darkroom environment to ensure accuracy. Design-wise, each brand has its unique approach. Samsung's Q8C boasts a sleek, minimalist design, Sony's X9300E offers a solid, flat panel look, and Hisense’s MU9600 features a curved, tech-savvy aesthetic. Each model reflects the design philosophy of its country. In terms of core technology, Sony’s X1 chip delivers exceptional image processing, Samsung’s QLED technology excels in brightness and color, and Hisense’s ULED technology brings high contrast and dynamic backlight control to LCDs. During objective testing, we measured color gamut, contrast, and brightness. Samsung Q8C led in color saturation, Sony X9300E was more accurate, and Hisense MU9600 offered balanced performance. In image testing, we found that Samsung Q8C stood out in color vibrancy, Sony X9300E provided natural tones, and Hisense MU9600 delivered a well-rounded experience. For video playback, all three models handled HDR content well, though each had its own style in color presentation and texture. System-wise, Hisense’s Vidaa system was the most user-friendly, while Samsung’s Tizen and Sony’s system offered more advanced but less intuitive interfaces. In conclusion, each TV has its strengths. Samsung Q8C shines in design and color, Sony X9300E delivers top-tier image quality, and Hisense MU9600 offers great value. For consumers looking for a balance between price and performance, the 2017 flagships remain a smart choice. Stay tuned for future comparisons, as new models are set to challenge the current leaders. Whether you choose Samsung, Sony, or Hisense, each offers a compelling case for the ultimate home entertainment experience.
