British augmented reality company Blippar is well-known in the industry. Unlike traditional technology companies, which strictly keep their own technology secret, they now want to push their technology to a broader market. Recently, Blippar released their AR and computer vision technology APIs for use by third-party developers. It is reported that Blippar just received a $54 million Series D financing in March this year, and the company's valuation has now exceeded $1.5 billion. Since the release of the first AR project in 2011, Blippar's business scope has expanded to AR shopping, AR media advertising, AR game development, AR education applications and many other aspects.
