Financial subsidies promote the development of the lighting industry

The promotion of lighting products was officially launched, which has aroused widespread concern in all aspects of society.
The Ministry of Finance, the National Development and Reform Commission and the winning bidder signed a bid-winning agreement for the promotion of high-efficiency lighting products. The companies that undertake the promotion of the first batch of 50 million high-efficiency lighting products are Zhejiang Sunshine (Love, Quotes, Information), Philips, Topstar, Foshan Lighting (Love, Quotes, Information), Osram, Shell (Love), Quotes, information), Op, TCL and other 13 companies. Some experts believe that this move marks the first time that China has used financial subsidies to promote high-efficiency lighting products.
It is understood that vigorously promoting high-efficiency lighting products is an important measure to achieve China's "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" energy-saving emission reduction targets. Before 2010, China will promote 150 million high-efficiency lighting products through financial subsidies, which can save 29 billion kWh of electricity, equivalent to the construction of a thermal power plant with a capacity of 6 million kilowatts. In the face of the global wave of eliminating incandescent lamps, the Chinese government will cooperate with the United Nations Development Program and the Global Environment Facility to launch a project of “phase out incandescent lamps and accelerate the promotion of energy-saving lamps” to support Chinese incandescent lamp manufacturers to convert energy-saving lamps.
According to statistics, China's lighting electricity consumption accounts for about 12% of the total electricity consumption of the whole society. If all the incandescent lamps in use are replaced with high-efficiency lighting products, it can save more than 60 billion kWh per year, equivalent to saving more than 22 million. Tons of standard coal, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 60 million tons and sulfur dioxide emissions by 590,000 tons.
In response to the first promotion of high-efficiency lighting products by means of financial subsidies, Chen Yansheng, chairman of the China Lighting Association, told reporters: "This financial subsidy to promote efficient lighting products is an important part of the national energy conservation and emission reduction work, is a real Huimin Engineering. The introduction of this policy will support related enterprises to become bigger and stronger, and promote the healthy development of the industry. At the same time, it can meet the domestic market demand for high-quality and efficient lighting products and expand the market share of domestic high-quality and efficient lighting products."
At present, about 70% of the energy-saving lamps produced in China are used for export, but the proportion of energy-saving lamps used in China is less than 20%. It is difficult to see energy-saving lamps in rural areas. This time, the government departments of China promoted high-efficiency lighting products through financial subsidies, which is intended to guide consumption and stimulate the enthusiasm of domestic lighting companies for innovation, R&D and production of energy-saving lamps. With the global energy shortage becoming more and more serious, many countries and regions actively promote energy-saving lighting and phase out high-energy products. In 2007, Australia announced the phasing out of incandescent lamps before 2012. The EU announced that it will no longer sell incandescent lamps in 2009. Subsequently, Canada and Japan have corresponding plans to promote energy-saving lamps instead of incandescent lamps or to limit the use schedule.
In the future, with the development of China's economy and the improvement of people's living standards, the electricity consumption of lighting in various places will further increase. By promoting the use of high-efficiency lighting products, China's energy-saving potential will be further increased. It can be foreseen that under the great environment of “energy saving and consumption reduction”, high-efficiency lighting products will surely become the energy-saving “star” with the most market potential.
