In order to standardize the correct use of leakage protectors, the State has successively promulgated a series of standards and regulations such as “Safety Supervision Regulations for Leakage Protectors” (Lou An Zi (1999) No. 16) and “Installation and Operation of Leakage Protectors (GB13955-92). .

In accordance with these standards and regulations, we should follow the following main principles when choosing a leakage protector:

1. When purchasing a leakage protector, purchase a manufacturer's product with production qualification and pass the product quality test. Here to remind everyone: There are many unsatisfactory products for leakage protectors currently on the market. On October 28, 2002, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine announced the results of the quality inspection of leakage protector products. About 20% of the products were unqualified. The main problems were: some could not break the short-circuit current normally and eliminate the fire hazard; some did not Protection against personal electric shock; there are some that should not trip when tripping, affecting normal power consumption.

2. The parameters such as the power supply voltage, operating current, leakage current and operating time of the leakage protector should be determined according to the scope of protection, personal equipment safety and environmental requirements.

3. When the power supply is protected by a leakage protector, the selectivity of the upper and lower switching operations should be met. Generally, the rated leakage current of the upper-level leakage protector is not less than the rated leakage current of the next-stage leakage protector, which can sensitively protect the safety of personnel and equipment, avoid tripping over and over, and narrow the scope of accident inspection.

4. Hand-held power tools (except Class III), mobile household appliances (except Class III), other mobile electromechanical equipment, and electrical equipment with high risk of electric shock must be installed with leakage protectors.

5. Leakage protectors should be installed for electrical equipment in construction sites and temporary lines. This is clearly required in the “Technical Specifications for Temporary Use of Electricity at Construction Sites” (JGJ46-88).

6. Socket circuits in institutions, schools, enterprises, and residential buildings, and in-room outlet circuits in hotels, restaurants, and guest houses must also be equipped with leakage protectors.

7. Power supply lines and equipment installed in the water, as well as wet, high temperature, metal possession coefficient and other conductive places, such as machining, metallurgy, textile, electronics, food processing and other industries, as well as boiler rooms, pumps Houses, canteens, bathrooms, hospitals, etc. must be protected by a leakage protector.

8. Power distribution equipment with leakage protector should be used for the electrical equipment of fixed lines and the normal production work place. For small electrical equipment that is temporarily used, a leakage protection plug (seat) or a socket box with a leakage protector should be used.

9. When the leakage protector is used as a supplementary protection for direct contact protection (not the only direct contact protection), a high-sensitivity, fast-acting leakage protector should be used.

The general environment selection action current does not exceed 30mA, and the action time does not exceed 0.1s. These two parameters ensure that if the human body is in shock, it will not cause pathological physiological risk effects to the electric shock.

The rated operating current of the leakage protector in bathrooms, swimming pools, etc. should not exceed 10 mA.

In the case of a secondary accident that may result in a secondary accident after electric shock, a leakage protector with a rated operating current of 6 mA should be selected.

10. For electrical equipment that is not allowed to be powered off, such as channel lighting in public places, emergency lighting, power supply for fire-fighting equipment, power supply for anti-theft alarm, etc., alarm type leakage protector should be used to connect sound and light alarm signals, and notify Managers handle faults in a timely manner.
