Hisense Announces Two New Laser TV Products: Stop Production of 1080P Products

On November 23, Hisense held a product launch event in Beijing, where they officially introduced two new laser TV models: the S6 and L6 series. These latest additions to their lineup are designed to offer an enhanced viewing experience with advanced technology and improved performance. The L6 series is available in sizes of 80, 88, and 100 inches, featuring a screen brightness of 350 nits, which significantly improves visibility in well-lit environments. This makes it ideal for living rooms or spaces where ambient light might interfere with the viewing experience. In terms of color accuracy, the L6 series covers 116% of the BT.709 color gamut, delivering richer and more vibrant colors. The model also supports HDR imaging and 120Hz MEMC motion compensation, ensuring smoother video playback and better detail retention, especially during fast-paced scenes. One notable feature of the L6 series is the integration of audio directly into the laser projector. It collaborates with Harman Kardon for custom acoustic design and sound optimization. Additionally, the external wireless subwoofer has been redesigned to be 60% smaller than previous generations while still achieving deep bass down to 40Hz, offering a more immersive audio experience. For content, the L6 runs on the VIDAA smart TV platform, supporting a wide range of services such as online streaming, home karaoke, fitness programs, educational content, senior learning, and even TV shopping. This makes it a versatile entertainment hub for the whole family. Meanwhile, the S6 series features a sleek metal body and is recommended for larger screens—120 and 150 inches. It also boasts a lens life of over 20,000 hours, making it a long-lasting investment for consumers. Currently, the L6 series is available in both China and the U.S., while the S6 series is expected to launch later this year. However, pricing details were not disclosed at the event. Hisense has stated that it has fully mastered the production of all components required for laser TVs. Unlike LCD and OLED technologies, which face challenges in scalability, efficiency, and cost, Hisense is committed to advancing laser TV technology further. The company sees a strong future for laser projection in the television market and plans to continue innovating in this space.
