ZVR Releases "Matrix" Modular Spatial Positioning Solution Will Facilitate Immersive Entertainment
The International Virtual Reality Innovation Conference recently concluded successfully at the Qingdao International Convention and Exhibition Center in Shandong. With the theme "Virtual and Practical Cooperation for Win-Win Development," the event featured five key activities, including the main forum, the construction of China’s virtual reality industry, and the launch of the national VR industrial base. The conference aimed to explore the global VR industry revolution, showcase cutting-edge technologies, and foster collaboration among industry players. It also aimed to drive the deep integration of VR with traditional industries by introducing new development strategies.
During the three-day exhibition, Beijing Lightwell Technology (ZVR), a global leader in optical motion capture solutions, partnered with TPCAST to unveil their groundbreaking "Matrix" large-space wireless multiplayer interactive solution. This innovative system is designed to support immersive experiences in up to 100 square meters, using ZVR's independently developed Wukong optical motion capture cameras, two calibration rods, and an integrated software system. At the exhibition, the Matrix solution was demonstrated using the HTC Vive headset, offering a wireless, multi-user, and free-roaming experience that attracted significant attention from government officials, partners, and media.
The Matrix solution not only enhances user experience but also offers valuable tools for content developers and operators. For consumers, it provides a natural and immersive interaction environment, allowing multiple users to move freely in a large space. For developers, the software system is compatible with major engines like Unity and Unreal, enabling seamless adaptation of existing VR content without the need for extensive rework. This flexibility helps bridge the gap between content creation and distribution platforms.
For operators, the solution streamlines hardware and content integration, reducing long-term maintenance and update costs. A platform-level product called "Immediate Space" further enhances this by acting as a middleware that supports various VR peripherals and game engines, making it easier for operators to manage different systems and content across platforms.
The Matrix solution is ideal for entertainment, education, military training, and cultural exhibitions. Looking ahead, ZVR aims to deepen its underlying technology and expand into immersive entertainment. According to Guo Wei, the company plans to integrate additional sensory experiences such as taste, smell, and touch to enhance immersion. Collaborations with content producers, cinemas, and small towns are already underway, with the goal of bringing high-end VR experiences like The Void into mainstream offline venues like movie theaters and shopping malls.
ZVR, established in 2014, specializes in developing VR infrastructure and has become a leading expert in commercial VR solutions. Its self-developed Wukongâ„¢ infrared optical motion capture system supports both active and passive spatial positioning methods. As a comprehensive solution provider, ZVR offers tailored services from planning to post-operation, ensuring seamless integration for different industries and use cases.
