When it came to searching and playing movies, Thunderbird was the only one that successfully played content after a search. Other models faced issues with incorrect identification or failed playback.
For music playback, Haier, Changhong, LeTV, and Thunderbird showed promise, allowing users to select songs. Thunderbird had the edge by enabling direct playback of specific tracks. In contrast, Microwhale and PPTV lacked this capability entirely.
Web search functionality was another area where many TVs fell short. Only Thunderbird could effectively open websites using voice commands, while others either failed to recognize the request or lacked a built-in browser.
Weather query tests revealed that most models could provide local forecasts, but few supported international locations. Thunderbird, Haier, Changhong, and LeTV performed best in this category, while PPTV and Microwhale had significant limitations.
Finally, when testing the ability to open local applications, Haier led the way, while others struggled with recognizing the "local" command. Overall, Thunderbird demonstrated the most balanced and comprehensive smart TV experience.
