Plate Thickness Gauge

In accordance with:

GB/T 5480-2008

Design and manufacture of "Test methods for mineral wool and its products". This thickness gauge is suitable for measuring the thickness of plates and tapes made from mineral wool.

Technical Parameters:

1. Dial gauge range: 0 ~ 10 mm, precision: 0.01 mm;

2. Platen diameter: φ50 mm, platen pressure: 98 Pa;

3. Measuring thickness: 0 ~ 160 mm, division value: 0.1 mm;

4. Test piece size: 100 x 100 mm;

5. Dimensions: 160 x 110 x 260 mm.

Instructions:

First, measure the general thickness of the test sample using a steel ruler. For example, if the sample is approximately 56 mm thick, use the steel ruler to measure the distance between the bottom plate of the gauge and the platen, which should be set to 50 mm. This is the initial distance. Then, tighten the moving beam of the gauge, gently lift the platen, place the test sample between the bottom plate and the platen, and lower the platen until it makes contact with the sample. Wait for the dial gauge reading to stabilize.

If the reading is 6.1 mm, the true thickness of the sample is the initial distance (50 mm) plus the measured thickness (6.1 mm), resulting in 56.1 mm.

Note: When using a steel ruler and thickness gauge to determine the initial thickness of the test sample, take the nearest integer value. The measured value should not exceed 10 mm. For example, if the sample is about 20~30 mm, set the initial distance to 20 mm. If the sample is 50~60 mm, set the initial distance to 50 mm. In similar cases, the initial distance should not exceed 150 mm.
