Plate Thickness Gauge

This thickness gauge is designed and manufactured according to the standard "Test methods for mineral wool and its products". It is specifically used for measuring the thickness of mineral wool plates and tapes.

Technical Specifications

1. Dial gauge range: 0 ~ 10mm, precision: 0.01mm;

Instructions

First, measure the general thickness of the sample using a steel ruler. For example, if the sample is approximately 56mm thick, use the steel ruler to measure the distance between the bottom plate of the gauge and the platen, which should be around 50mm. This is your initial distance. Then, tighten the moving beam of the gauge, gently lift the platen, place the sample between the bottom plate and the platen, and carefully lower the platen until it makes contact with the sample. Wait for the dial gauge reading to stabilize.

If the reading is 6.1mm, the actual thickness of the sample is calculated as the initial distance (50mm) plus the measured thickness (6.1mm), resulting in 56.1mm.

Note: When determining the initial thickness of the sample using both the steel ruler and the thickness gauge, always take the nearest whole number. The measured value should not exceed 10mm. For example, if the sample is about 20~30mm, set the initial distance to 20mm. If the sample is between 50~60mm, set the initial distance to 50mm. Similarly, the maximum initial distance should not exceed 150mm.
