Skyworth LCD TV 26S15HM – This unit was damaged by a lightning strike, resulting in no response during boot-up. A visual inspection revealed that the 431 diode had burst, and the optocoupler showed black traces. Using a multimeter, the fuse tested normal, and there were no major short circuits detected. After replacing the faulty components, the TV still failed to power on, with no output voltage. The power supply block in this model is the STR W6556.

Initially, the 4th pin of the chip measured 0V, which was not correct. After connecting a resistor to the start pin, the voltage increased to 5V, but the chip became unresponsive. Upon checking, it was found that the 4th pin was shorted. Even after removing the short, the power supply still didn't produce any output. Further testing of the 6th pin of the W6556 showed only 8V, which was below the expected level.

The 30V voltage regulator next to the start resistor was removed for further testing. A 1K ohm resistor was used to measure the reverse leakage, and some minor leakage was detected. Since no replacement part was available, I decided to use a CRT voltage regulator tube as a temporary fix. After removing the load, the system started working again.
