The principle of virtual pixel display

The virtual pixel LED display screen uses a software algorithm to control and control the light-emitting tube, and the light-emitting tube participates in the imaging of a plurality of adjacent pixels. The virtual screen realizes a larger resolution with fewer lamps, and can make the LED display screen The pixel resolution is increased by 4 times.

Virtual pixel display definition

The red, green and blue display components of each point in the display unit are evenly distributed to match the color mixing effect of the pixels; the color of the virtual display points is composed of adjacent red, green and blue pixel mixed colors. The points of the virtual pixels are scattered, and the points of the real pixels are condensed. The light-emitting point of the virtual pixel is between the tubes, and the light-emitting point of the real pixel is on the tube.

Virtual pixel implementation method

According to 2 red 1 green 1 blue design module, then the conversion relationship between real point and virtual point is: m=2m-1, m is virtual point, n is real point. For example, when m=3, the real pixel is a 3×5 dot matrix, and the virtual pixel is a 5×9 dot matrix. From this we can get, if n is the number of row LED tubes, m is the number of column LED tubes, then the pixel points displayed by real pixels are m×n, and the pixels displayed by virtual pixels are (2n-1)×(2m -1), so that when m and n are sufficiently large, it is approximately equal to 2n × 2m, that is, 4m × n, so it is 4 times that of real pixels.

The module in Figure 2 is analyzed. Take the green light as an example. There are 16 lights in the row and 8 lights are listed. Therefore, the pixel is actually 16×8. Because of the virtual pixel technology, the actual number of pixels is (16 × 2) × (8 × 2), which is increased by 4 times.

Why do you want to use virtual pixels on the big LED screen?

1, can improve the display performance: under the same number of lamps, the virtual pixel display is equivalent to four times the effect of real pixel display.

2, can greatly reduce the cost of the entire screen: the use of virtual pixels large screen can use less than a quarter of the lamp at the same resolution, and can achieve the same visual effect of many pixels with real pixels, now virtual surface stickers The cost of a full-color large screen is mainly on the lamp.

3. The use of virtual pixels can reduce the fatigue of people when viewing, because the more uniform the luminous points on the LED large screen, the more uniform the illumination in the same area, so the fatigue of people when watching is lower.

How to distinguish between real and virtual pixels of LED display

Usually we can distinguish them in the following way: the points of the virtual pixel screen are scattered, and the points of the real pixel screen are condensed. The light-emitting point of the virtual pixel is between the tubes, and the light-emitting point of the real pixel is on the tube. The difference between the two can be easily seen by comparing Figures 2 and 3.
