The touch screen must be clear, responsive, and stable, serving as the standard display interface. To ensure proper functionality, you can run the built-in inspection program in the driver to check if the touch screen's physical functions are working correctly. If multiple devices are available, use the hardware replacement method to identify which component is faulty—common parts to test include the control card, screen, and cable.

If more than two PCs are available, try replacing the PC to determine if a system issue is causing the touch screen to malfunction. Possible PC-related issues may involve the RS-232 serial port—test it with a mouse; or whether the keyboard port is providing sufficient power—test by connecting a keyboard. Additionally, check for interrupt (IRQ) conflicts by entering the system resources and checking the usage of COM ports and IRQs.

If the test results are normal but the software driver isn't functioning correctly, verify that the correct driver is installed and properly configured for your product and controller settings. When using an RS-232 controller, ensure that the serial port number connected to the touch screen cable matches the one specified in the software installation. If not, adjust it and test again.

Check for device resource conflicts, such as when a network card (NIC) is installed and defaults to IRQ 3, which might conflict with COM2. In such cases, reconfigure the NIC’s IRQ to an unused value. If all the above steps are performed without resolving the issue, refer to the specific product failure methods provided in the documentation and follow the troubleshooting steps according to the products you are using.
