Q: My 400 CPU has a touch screen. I'm using simulation mode, but why can't I connect to the PLC? When I press the button during the simulation, it doesn't respond to the program. Can you help me?

A: To connect WinCC Flexible to the STEP7 V5.4 simulator for testing, follow these steps:

1. In the hardware configuration of Step7, set the DP interface address of the PLC to 4. In WinCC Flexible, under "Communication" > "Connection", select "DP" as the configuration file and set the "Address" of the "HMI Device" to 2, and the "Address" of the "PLC Device" to 4.
2. Open PLCSIM V5.4. By default, select the corresponding CPU access node from the project, or choose the DP interface of the CPU (address 4) in "Select CPU Access Node" under the File menu. Confirm that the status bar shows "DP = 4".
