According to Memes Consulting, Analog Devices (ADI) has recently announced the acquisition of Symeko GmbH, a privately held company based in Munich, Germany. Specializing in radar hardware and software for autonomous vehicles and industrial applications, Symeko brings cutting-edge signal processing algorithms that will enhance ADI’s radar platforms, significantly improving angular accuracy and resolution.
This strategic move allows ADI to offer more comprehensive and competitive radar solutions. By combining its industry-leading product portfolio with Symeko’s advanced systems and algorithms, ADI is set to deliver even more powerful radar technologies for automation, enhancing sensing accuracy and reliability.

According to Yole’s recent report, "Automated Driving Vehicle Sensor – 2018," the laser radar market is expected to reach $1.6 billion by 2022, while the radar market is projected to hit $44 million, the camera market $600 million, and the inertial measurement unit market $900 million. These figures highlight the growing demand for high-precision sensing technologies across various industries.
Symeko's unique RF and sensor technology enables real-time position detection and distance measurement, making it ideal for complex and harsh industrial environments. This complements ADI’s existing market solutions and helps system integrators and OEMs deliver accurate and reliable radar systems.
