To address this issue, the National Disaster Prevention and Rescue Science and Technology Center (Civil Defense Technology Center) has developed an intelligent response robot designed to deliver real-time disaster updates through simple, conversational language.

According to Li Weisen, the center's secretary, the organization plays a key role in supporting government efforts in disaster preparedness and response. Over the past few years, they have integrated data from 39 institutions, over 270 domestic maps, and real-time monitoring systems to create a comprehensive decision-support platform called “Disaster Emotional Network.” Alongside this, they introduced the “Disaster Prevention Gold Steel” robot, a groundbreaking tool tailored for disaster response in Taiwan. “Disaster Prevention Gold Steel” is the first disaster response robot developed in Taiwan using advanced disaster analysis and semantic processing technologies. It allows users to access real-time and accurate disaster information through a simple question-and-answer interface or an active alert mode. The robot provides visual data such as maps, charts, and images, enabling users to quickly understand the situation and respond effectively. Looking ahead, the technology could be integrated with TV screens for real-time visual updates, allowing people to not only receive verbal alerts but also view live images directly on their televisions. This would enhance public awareness and preparedness during emergencies. Additionally, it could be connected to car navigation systems to warn drivers about potential hazards along their route, improving safety and situational awareness in disaster-prone areas. This innovation marks a significant step forward in making disaster information more accessible and actionable for the public, helping to build a more resilient society.
