Jinan Power Grid to Start Construction of 1000kV Extra High Voltage Engineering

Recently, it was learned from the Jinan Power Supply Company that this year, the company will strive to start the construction of a 1000 kV UHV project. After the project is put into operation, the first-phase power supply capacity will reach 6 million kVA, which is the installed capacity of all large-scale power plants in the region of Jinan Power Grid. Two times that, it will fundamentally optimize the city's energy structure and ensure the provincial city's comprehensive and reliable power supply.

It is understood that during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, Jinan Power Supply Company planned to build one 1000-kV UHV project, five 500 kV projects, 28 projects of 220 kV, and 29 projects of 110 kV. Among them, the 1,000 kV Jinan UHV and 500 kV Xiaolong and Longshan Power Transmission and Transformation Projects are planned to start construction this year, and efforts will be made to complete the power transmission by the end of 2012.

According to reports, the 1,000-kilovolt UHV substation in Jinan is a key project of the State Grid Corporation's “12th Five-Year Plan” and is the first 1000-kilovolt high-voltage substation in Shandong Province. The site of this project is located in Renfeng Town, Jiyang County, with an area of 255. Mu is a key component of the 1,000 kV Mengxi-Shanghai UHV power transmission project.
